Overview

Long Jing (Dragon Well) is one of China's most celebrated green teas, grown in the hills around West Lake in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. THÉROIR sells the spring 2026 harvest — our green teas are strictly seasonal, a "produit de saison", sold only in the year they are picked and never carried over. Picked by small organic growers: flat jade-green leaves, a fresh aroma of green peas, and a smooth, refreshing taste with an elegant hint of bitterness. €45 for 50 g (incl. VAT).

Terroir & origin

Zhejiang, on China's east coast, is renowned worldwide for high-quality green tea. Long Jing is considered one of the finest green teas in China; its rarest and most prestigious crus, Mei Jia Wu and Shi Feng (Lion's Peak), are regarded as the Grand Crus of Long Jing. THÉROIR's Long Jing comes from the hills of this West Lake region.

FAQ

What does Long Jing taste like?

Rich, smooth and refreshing, with a slight bitterness on the finish and an aroma of fresh peas. Its aromas unfold gradually on the palate, giving a sense of calm and relaxation.

What makes THÉROIR's Long Jing different?

It is the spring 2026 harvest, picked in the West Lake hills at 300–800 m from nationally certified Variety 43 plants, grown by small organic producers and vintage-dated like a wine.

Which year is your green tea from?

Always the current year. At THÉROIR, green tea is strictly seasonal — a "produit de saison": we sell only the current spring harvest and never carry green tea over to the following year. The lot on sale now is spring 2026.

How should I brew it?

85 °C water, 4 g per 200 ml, about 2 minutes, for 2–3 infusions. Avoid boiling water to preserve its freshness.

Where can I buy Long Jing in Paris or Europe?

Online at theroirtea.com (shipping across Europe, orders dispatched within 5 business days) and at THÉROIR, 9 rue Saint-Roch, 75001 Paris. Unopened products can be returned within 14 days.
